I was browsing Twitter the other day when I saw the Atlantic repost this two year old article wherein the Hispanic author bemoans the unmellanated aversion to loud noises. I tried to read it but it was behind a paywall and I don’t want to pay to read libel against Whites when I can see it for free every time I open the bird site. However, I did manage to find a couple of excerpts from the article which I will comment on later in this piece.
I’ve written before about the nonwhite love of injecting loud noise into public spaces and how if they don’t hear a noise they’ll create it themselves. But why do they love blaring subwoofers and bluetooth speakers so much? Is it a function of being poorer than the White people who prefer silence?
Now I wouldn’t want to suggest there’s a correlation between nonwhites and lower social status, there are plenty of poor Whites in this country who also love noise as well. You see trailer trash whites congregating in public or at their jobs talking loudly or playing mumble rap on their phones the same as their mellanted counterparts.
I remember a friend from high school installed a 12 inch subwoofer in his rusted out Pontiac Firebird and the panels shook violently every time he used it. It’s safe to assume that loud noise and poverty go hand in hand regardless of race, but why is that so?
But I recall reading a piece from 2016 on The Z Man blog dealing with black misbehavior in the wake of the Charlotte riots that year and this line stood out to me:
At some level, they know the rest of us would just as soon ignore the ghetto entirely, so they spend their energy making that impossible.
The gap between the rich and poor has grown significantly over the decades, even since that Z Man piece was written, and the latter are increasingly resentful of that fact. So it follows that they would make it so their wealthier cohorts, who they feel ignored by, can’t have a moments peace. Class resentment presents itself in the same was racial resentment does, if they can’t have a nice environment to live in then nobody can.
Wealthy White liberals now feel guilty about their social standing and in turn romanticize what they consider fundamentals of poorer communities. What’s more, they want to adopt what they see as a low class mindset.
To them there’s nothing worse than being poor, but they associate poverty with a legitimacy not given to the wealthy who they feel earned their status through unscrupulous means. To them being poor means you’re more moral that the rich, as long as you’re not White of course.
I’ve seen wealthy leftist pundits claim they’re struggling financially as if it grants them poor person bonafides and then it’s revealed that they attended some elite university on their parents dime and everyone rolls their eyes.
They want to shed their bougie perspective so they read articles like the one featured and tell themselves they don’t mind listening to shitty trap music blared from their Mexican neighbors’ cars while they try to eat their shrimp scampi at the outdoor cafe.
They associate noise pollution with prog concepts like diversity and vibrance. Peace and quiet is a staple of White culture, but they reject that and feel they have to import culture from the global south. And when they’re kept up all night by Jose and the boys drinking Modelo and watching soccer on their phones on the stoop outside their apartment, they tell themselves it’s a price worth paying for tolerance or street tacos or whatever. The tweet below sums up this attitude:
But let’s get into the meat of the article, starting with this short excerpt wherein the author implies that anyone annoyed by intrustive noise simply has to realize the person making it is simply enjoying themselves.
I guess my right to have a quiet neighborhood is superceded by someone’s right to be an obnoxious asshole? If being loud is a reaction to the apathy of the rich then by the association between race and class it is also a rebuttal to Whiteness.
In modern America nonwhites can’t simply exist in a space, they feel they’ve been suppressed by White supremacy and that they now have to express themselves in the most attention getting way possible and what’s more, not care who is annoyed by it. Whites, on the other hand, have been conditioned to believe their demands for quiet have stood in the way of nonwhite happiness and they have no right to complain about any of this behavior.
Silence is anathema to these people, they can’t reckon with anyone simply wanting to just sit and enjoy time away from noise. To them spaces exist to just be filled with loud racket at all hours of the day. It’s like they don’t want to be alone with their own thoughts. There’s some part of them that they need to keep buried with distractions 24/7.
There’s this culture fostered among these people that prevents them from being introspective even for a moment. The more noise you fill the void with, the less you have to think about your station in life, and if it disrupts the peace so much the better. Schopenhauer wrote about this:
We’re dealing with people who have no internal monologue with very high time preference coupled with zero agency. They’re applauded for being loud by wealthy urbanites who don’t have to take public transit or chop it up at the local bodega while appreciating a man blaring “Oye como va” from a bluetooth speaker. It’s just understood as something poor people do and if you don’t like it you don’t understand class struggle.
Being loud is the only way they know how to express themselves because they sure don’t have anything more cerebral than “Muh dick” to add to any conversation. Leftists argue that these peoples lived experiences are worth discussing as if they’re something vital to our culture but there’s nothing more profound than “I’m a broke azz n*gga and imma be loud af fuck yt pipo”.
Their noise is marketed as cool, it’s cool to disturb the peace, it’s cool to force kids to listen to vulgar rap lyrics, it’s cool to make a spectacle of yourself. How our culture degraded to the point of valorizing low IQ brownoid behavior I don’t know, but I have some guesses. Is this all you have to bring to the table, dogshit mumble rap at 150 dB?
Never feel bad about demanding quiet in your spaces and never feel bad about getting a noise ordinance passed in your diverse neighborhood. If you can’t cope with your shitty situation that’s not my fault and it’s not the fault of the people you so desperately want to disrupt the lives of. I’m reminded of the famous Paul Skallas quote “Anybody can hate the rich, do you have the courage to hate the poor?” Yes some people in poverty deserve empathy, but don’t let it become a crutch because our enemies sure don’t.
Btw this is the lady that wrote the article, are you really going to be lectured by another White Karen LARPing as POC? No I didn’t think so. We need to collectively take baseball bats and metaphorically smash the boomboxes of ethic interlopers if we want peace for our children, never apologize for it.
That's not a woman.
