Roasting Aaron Bushnell
The peak of White allyship
The other day an active duty Air Force member named Aaron Bushnell recorded a video of himself walking down a street in Washington DC, in the video he goes on a brief tangent about the war in Gaza, mentioning the plight of Palestinians in the region. The video cuts to Aaron in front of a security gate where he continues ranting about the unjust actions of Israel and how he refused to die in service of America’s #1 ally before he douses himself with accelerant and, after a few attempts at flicking a lighter, successfully immolates himself while screaming “Free Palestine” as his skin is blackened by flames and security personnel around the embassy scramble to put him out. A blurred version of the video is below, despite being censored it remains very graphic, viewer discretion advised.
I’d like to think I have a pretty good grasp of progressive thought, I know what kinds of bullshit virtue signaling these people respond to and have usually found that I’m able to predict the kinds of memes and rhetoric they employ in certain situations with a high rate of accuracy. I know that the majority of leftist thought isn’t really about worker’s rights or healthcare so much as it’s about actively disenfranchising yourself to better suit legions of ungrateful foreigners and alphabet people. Your average prog is typically a child of privilege who feels pangs of guilt over walking past low income ethnics in a $150 pair of Hokas, but they remain insulated from the crime and poverty which is exacerbated by the prog representatives they vote into power. These people can take up the cause online but if the brown rioters start hurling rocks through windows in their neighborhoods they’ll turn conservative real quick. But with that said, I just can’t get into Aaron’s mind or come close to understanding the thought process that unfolded before he turned himself into a human kebab. I’ve seen some conspiracy takes likening Aaron’s actions to some manner of MK Ultra psyop, or going so far as to say the entire scenario was staged (by Jews perhaps?).
Memes aside, how does this kind of thing happen? How does a normal looking 25 year old White guy who has a career as a software engineer lined up wind up as a crisp piece of bacon on a city street? What forces compelled him to decide to do this to himself? And what point did it serve? Aarons family lost a son, and his fellow servicemen lost a brother. Whatever statement he was trying to make, regardless of whether you agree with it or not, rang hollow as the government Aaron railed against continues to supply arms to the foreign country he railed against in their ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign. Aaron’s sacrifice, although considered noble by a contingent of the pro Palestine commentariat, achieved nothing but generating meme material to be forgotten about and glossed over in a weeks time. But Digging through the internet has revealed some facts about Aaron that point to his political affiliations.
We’re all familiar with the standard cucky White leftist who makes it his mission to excoriate his fellow huwhites for calling the cops on brown criminals. But those kinds of guys practice their “activism” exclusively online. Your average they/them podcast creature isn’t going to an hero in public, unless you count letting youself get stabbed by a black miscreant as activism of course. Aaron, despite being a commie, was a man of conviction. More whites seemingly sneer at the blatant anti White sentiment put forth by non whites and Jewish academics and have come to the conclusion that there’s really nothing they can do to please these people. But not Aaron, Aaron saw injustice unfolding in a foreign country involving brown people who’d likely hate him, if not for his military affiliation then his skin color, and didn’t just resort to hashtags or campaigns to raise awareness of their genocide. And…the people his demonstration was meant to appeal to still remain unpleased.
I wrote an earlier piece (Eulogy for Chapo, subscribe to read) about how Matt Christman from Chapo suffered a stroke and, despite introducing millions of people to socialist thought, he still had earned the ire of the 80 IQ Marxist brownoids with his evil white boi irony and they, in turn, laughed about his medical episode. I also wrote a review of the film Soft and Quiet that explained that no matter how hard white suburban women try to appeal to their brown counterparts, they’ll still get portrayed as murderous pie baking Nazis. Trying to explain to a white prog that the people they advocate for will never see them as a true ally or worse, will betray them if they stand to benefit in any way, is like trying to explain how to change smoke detector batteries to a black single mother, they just won’t get it. The white prog sees it as their duty to advocate for the dissilusioned brown masses at risk to his own safety and financial status. Of course the vast majority of them will never take it as far as Aaron. But many of them likely fantasize about laying down their lives for people that western media and academics have designated as oppressed, it’s the ultimate sacrifice as dictated by BLM grifters; the only good white ally is a dead white ally. And what of Aaron’s legacy? How will he be remembered? With statues and plaques canonizing him as the savior of Muslims thousands of miles away? Haha no…he’s a soyjak now.
We can laugh and joke around about Aaron’s escapades but at the end of the day a stark reality presents itself, these were the actions of a very fucked up individual representing a very fucked up ideology. Lefty pundits go on and on about the threat of Christian nationalists but those evil white families packed into churches aren’t setting themselves on fire for the world to gawk at. A man killed himself in the most public way imaginable because he thought it would somehow benefit people living in a country thousands of miles away. And this man’s obvious mental illnesses manifested in a devastating way most likely due to the radicalizing influence of the internet.
This brings me to my next point, I absolutely hate it when I hear right wingers say that the left aren’t serious people; they absolutely are serious, so much so that they’re willing to reduce themselves to smoldering rubble for their principles. There are a lot of Aaron Bushnells out there who could be very close to replicating something like this, only they might want to bring some victims along on their personal jihad this time. These days it’s very common to run into people online and off whose brains have been cooked by the deluge of content featuring the ugliest aspects of human behavior. We seed footage of bloodied Palestinian men and women next to bombed out homes, paying the price for a terrorist groups actions and caught in the middle of a conflict between that group and a bloodthirsty Zionist hegemony. And what’s worse, we feel powerless to stop it.
But there is no honor in sacrifice to a cause not your own, if you take nothing else from Aaron’s death or the deaths of other servicemen in these endless foreign entanglements, understand that your life is yours when all is said and done. It doesn’t belong to Jews, or Muslims, or Ukrainians or the necrotic neocons in the Washington establishment, it’s really the only thing you truly own in this capitalist hellscape. And if the time comes when you have to lay it on the line, make sure it’s for a worthwhile cause, not just so you can be the next viral sensation.
