Why is everyone yelling?

I can't understand them when they yell.

I have a ritual in the morning, I get up and head to the kitchen, prepare some coffee, do some stretches, check my phone for messages, and then sit on my couch to watch news updates on either Youtube or Rumble on my TV. The former offers plenty of content from ostensibly left-of-center news channels. It’s the kind of content that, while occasionally biased, presents opinions of less fringe nature to be more easily digestible for the average media consumer. The latter usually features large breasted right wing Latinas with channels named Patriot Fury yelling into their webcams about how Hamas is sending trucks full of untested vaccines and drag queens through the southern border. But for the last month there’s been one theme that has taken over both services, hours and hours of footage of people yelling.

Countless Palestinian protestors clutch flags and take to the streets to yell into news cameras, they yell at police, they yell at each other, they yell at Zionists, they yell at racists, they yell at anyone in their immediate vicinity, mouths perpetually agape and scowls on their faces. They yell as if the noise will stop Iron Dome missiles from leveling another hospital in the Gaza strip. And we watch them, fascinated and horrified by the spectacle.

If I have time before work I’ll turn on my computer to either shop, respond to emails, or do some online banking and browse Twitter while I do so. I’m treated to a timeline full of angry right wingers posting pictures and videos of huge Palestinian lead protests in European and American cities and metaphorically yelling about how progressive politicians allowed in so many foreigners. I see other right wingers protesting outside the White House, yelling into megaphones how White kids shouldn’t be drafted to fight in jewish wars in the desert and how, they too, support Palestine in it’s war against Zionists. They also take time to yell back at fat black women who yelled at them for being racist in public. I think Palestinians appreciate white nationalist support about as much as they appreciate gay White progressives making their liberation a queer issue. But I don’t know, maybe they can just yell about that as well.

Another group of people that loves to yell is women, they go in front of cameras and yell at men for being either too racist, sexist, bigoted, masculine, effeminate, or for not being sufficient enough in any of those categories. What misogynists don’t realize is that every time a woman raises her voice, it stops another woman from being brainwashed by Tucker Carlson into wearing nothing but stripper heels and an apron to grill steak for her husband. They also like to yell about non-white and non-straight people and how little other people (usually men) care about them and their struggles. Here’s some footage of someone I’m pretty sure is a woman yelling at a city council meeting about a dead black man, I mean uh-a dead trans woman who happens to be black.

It’s clear women feel ignored by the patriarchy and feel they have no choice but to yell their frustrations into whatever recording device is near. If they don’t yell then that means that men won’t take them seriously and use their white privilege to dismantle heteronormative power structures that force trans people to keep their genitals intact. Progressive women like to present themselves as astute and business-like to compete in the world of men but the second they see an insensitive opinion directed at a group on the progressive stack they become feral, like a pitbull who catches sight of an unsupervised 5 year old. Any progress the west had made towards the liberation of brown and LGBT folks isn’t acknowledged, but any of the freedoms we enjoy while living in the west are under threat if any of said groups feel marginalized in any way and we are reminded of this by women yelling these threats at us via our computer screens.

White women do a lot of yelling, but their efforts to identify as a marginalized group are usually met by skepticism on part of gays and browns who feel that sharing their lucrative-I mean soul crushing victim status with some Becky is out of the question. White women are conscious of this and compensate by yelling espescially hard at lawmakers for the benefit of people who wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. But what if a woman was simultaneously part of two foreign victim groups? You’d have to pay extra attention to her yelling because she’s double oppressed! Meet Fatema, a 24 year old half-Palestinian, half-Ukrainian woman who’s mad at the US gov’t for funding a proxy war for Ukraine but actively subsidizing Israel while it turns another couple dozen Gaza residents into red goo. Fatema can yell as much as she wants but the fact of the matter is that US involvement in the Ukraine war was predicated on stopping evil dirty Nazi Putin from claiming the Donbas while this latest situation in Gaza revolves around “American” interests in Israel being threatened by evil dirty terrorist Hamas. Zelenskyy doesn’t have lobbying groups donating to the campaigns of American politicians so he gets relegated to the role of unwanted step-child while daddy America posts heart-rending stories about an Israeli infant getting basted and cooked for an hour at 400 degrees in an oven. But Fatema can yell that it’s because being half-Ukrainian gives her white privilege if she wants.

The group of people that yells the most seems to be African Americans, or scholars, or lunchtime rowdies or whatever you want to refer to them as (please don’t be racist). They sure did yell a lot when noted Nobel Laureate George Floyd took a bunch of fentanyl and subsequently died in police custody. When blacks yell, America listens and hopes that their show of solidarity means they don’t get bricks hurled through the windows of their upscale apartments. White progressives internalize the guilt foisted upon them by brown academics, and in turn love being yelled at by black activists for not immediately maxing out the GoFundMe of a future scientist that committed the minor offense of firing a gun at the police. But White activists don’t know how to express their disgust at the white supremacist system without damaging the legitimacy of the totally organic and forthright movement known as BLM, so they have to be yelled at yet again.

If you want a vision of the future imagine guilt riddled whites being yelled at by a collective of furious brown, jewish, and other white activists forever. America is a land where any minority who claims victim status is guaranteed a platform; they can organize along racial lines, claim that they’re entitled to land, money and resources, have politicians who share their heritage pander to them exclusively, get WASPy urbanites to fund their drug habits, and steal cosmetics from any retailer without a security guard so much as casting a glance in their direction but they still feel the need to yell.

I don’t know what these fucking people want anymore, they have access to freedoms and luxuries afforded to no one outside the west but I still have to hear them yell so loud flecks of spittle get on me. They claim no one listens to them but after spending the better part of a decade hearing them yell incoherently about supposed oppression it’s become apparent they’re just repeating the propaganda of the GAE without even realizing it. If they’re mad that people who share their geneology in foreign countries are getting slaughtered but can’t understand why White Americans are concerned with White Europeans being displaced and killed by migrants they can get fucked. The very thought of them not being the only victims of an uncaring and greedy regime creates a cognitive dissonance for them, only their victimhood matters and only by yelling can they properly convey it. They need to believe that White victimhood is a fallacy because they’ve been conditioned into thinking that it’s actually White people who’re responsible for their oppression and they’ll never investigate the real cause because they’re too stupid.

Taking this into account, I have the feeling that Americans at large are tired of being yelled at and tired of the sympathetic ear our country’s media gives to foreigners who feel free to stage massive demonstrations yet still yell about how they’re being ignored. If they don’t like that feeling they can ask White people how they feel after decades of policies that make our lives worse. And every time White people yell about their problems we get called fascist terrorists. If any of the Arabs holding signs and yelling in American streets were to face the blowback your average White advocate gets they’d crumble.

So here we are, still yelling at each other and the only thing we’ve learned is that if you’re deemed a threat to the regime you’ll be silenced or disposed of regardless or race, sex, religion or political affiliation. But you can still yell, yell into the void about your problems and your victimhood, yell in the face of anyone who’ll listen about how you’re special and only your problems matter and be immediately ignored for whatever new niche cause starts trending on the socials. I’m wondering if yelling is really the answer, but in this political climate, it’s the only way to get a response be it negative or positive.
